More than 10,000 apply for 2,000 Wisconsin wolf tags
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources reports it has received 10,025 permit applications for its inaugural 2012 wolf hunt as of this morning, with a vast majority—9,820—coming from residents. The application period ends Aug. 31. The DNR will subsequently issue 2,010 permits through random lottery. State Journal.
