Plans by the City of Carson, Calif. to snare and kill coyotes that have been threatening residents have been halted—at least for now—after pressure from animal protection groups. Instead of allowing the city to trap coyotes at the mobile home park where most of the incidents have taken place, its attorney instead raised the park’s liability insurance in case someone is injured in an attack, passing the cost increase along to residents.
